The Manchester Giants is an established professional basketball club in the UK with a team playing
in the BBL.
We are looking for a Commercial Lead to drive sales for the Franchise ahead of the 2023/24 season, taking a ‘hands-on’ approach to ticketing, partnerships and other revenue streams, providing leadership across the organisation and ensuring that the BBL are accurately and appropriately
advised.

The Commercial Lead will
- Report to the BBL COO and League’s Team Services Department
- Be primarily responsible for annual revenue and profit growth of the
Manchester Giants - Identify and structure sponsorship agreements for the club
- Lead the development and implementation of ticketing strategy, including
setting financial targets and developing budgets - Lead the management, structuring and negotiation of commercial
contracts - Oversee and monitor commercial performance Ensure that commercial best practices are embedded throughout the
organisation
Experience required:
- Demonstrated career success in commercial deal and operational roles, delivering commercial growth within a business
- Extensive experience working in the sports sector including a knowledge of the commercial sporting landscape and developing innovative partnership and ticketing strategies
- Understanding of major trends in sports, media, content and entertainment
- Proven experience of developing an insights-driven organisation, with working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
- Sound financial knowledge and ability to forecast and manage budgets
- In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. supply chain, finance, fan engagement etc.)
- Proven ability to drive projects from conception to completion
- Experience working in businesses with private equity backing is beneficial but not essential
- Familiarity with MS Office and various business software (e.g. CRM)
Other required:
- Interest in basketball;
- Team player with excellent communication skills;
- Strong, entrepreneurial work ethic;
- Flexible attitude to working, willing to work evenings and weekends;
- Be willing to work outside normal office hours on a regular basis;
- Be available to attend events and competitions at locations in the UK;
- Familiarity with the operational procedures at all levels in an organisation;
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset that translates into leadership skills;
- Ability to inspire employees to live up to their potential and optimise their productivity.
